Preliminary Studies of Slag and Ash from Incinerated Municipal Waste for Prospective Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

The assessment of the possibility using incinerated municipal waste, which is classified as non-hazardous, a priority European zero waste strategy. aim this work was to identify properties slag and ash develop simple, targeted way post-process waste. material analyzed by microscopic methods in terms composition internal structure. Gas water permeability tests were carried out. Slag texture obtained densimetric methods. BCR sequential extraction out assess impacts on soil environment. It shown that individual fractions characterized different compositions pore contents. increase layer density resulted porosity reduction ash, had significant impact permeability. index from 0.92 0.98 filtration coefficient two orders magnitude. results showed division into important for prospective applications With very low negligible leachability heavy metals, characteristics predispose them support needs specialized hydrotechnical construction.

VITRIFIED BOTTOM ASH SLAG FROM MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE INCINERATORS - PHASE RELATIONS OF CaO-SiO2-Na2O OXIDE SYSTEM

Vitrification is considered to be an attractive technology for bottom ash treatment because it destroys the hazardous organics, contributes to immobilization of the heavy metals, and additionally it reduces drastically the volume. The main components of the vitrified bottom ash slag are SiO2 , CaO, Al2 O3 , Fe2 O3 , Na 2 O and MgO, and the compositions have direct effect on the glass formation ...

Phosphorus recovery from municipal solid waste incineration fly ash.

The potential of phosphorus (P) recycling from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) residue is investigated. Vast and ever increasing amounts of incineration residues are produced worldwide; these are an environmental burden, but also a resource, as they are a major sink for the material flows of society. Due to strict environmental regulations, in combination with decreasing landfilling s...

Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Bottom Ash: Characterization and Kinetic Studies of Organic Matter

Bottom ash is the main solid residue (in weight) which is produced by municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) facilities. To be reused in public works, it has to be stored previously a few months. This material is composed primarily of a mineral matrix but also contains unburnt organic matter. The mineral content and its change in the course of aging are relatively well-known, in contrast wit...

Properties of Concrete with Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator Bottom Ash

The appropriate utilization of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (MSWI) residues is a worldwide studied topic over the last decades. One of the possibilities is to use MSWI ashes in concrete production, as it is done with coal combustion products. The bottom ash features the most convenient composition for this purpose, and it is available in highest amounts among the MSWI ashes. Untreated bot...

Distribution of Chloride in Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Bottom Ash

Chloride content is a critical problem for the reuse of incineration bottom ash as raw material in cement. The effect of dechlorination procedure largely depends on the existence form of the chlorides. However, limited information about the distribution and identity of chlorides in bottom ash can be obtained by bulk analysis methods. In this paper, the investigation towards a more comprehensive...
